This online course for educators offers professional development licensure renewal hours.  Led by Christiana Frank, provides a hands-on approach helping educators and counselors increase online engagement and retention with students and clients.  Tools support Social-Emotional, and Trauma-Informed Practices as well as 21st Century Competencies.

During the six hours participants will learn, practice, discuss, and customize methods from Applied Improvisation, Mindfulness, breathe, Qi Gong, and Tapping. Training is interactive and participants will have time for discussion and customization for differentiated instruction. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and license renewal hours.

Module 1

  • Introduction to methods supporting mindfulness, social-emotional learning, and trauma informed.
  • Learn exercises and activities supporting:
    • Breathe
    • Mindfulness
    • Social-Emotional
    • Trauma Informed

Module 2

  • Increase engagement and retention.
  • Embed into core content.
  • Scaffold and differentiate.

This course requires teachers to have the option of using Zoom. While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to actively participate with video and sound on.  School districts and administration may inquire about group rates as well as obtain Title I, II, IVa funds, including, the newly established CARES Act funding opportunities.  Modules are aligned with the social-emotional learning competencies designed by Sanford, The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Christiana Frank is a certified consultant in education, and mental health since 1999 and since COVID has been supporting educators, students, and patients online, hybrid, and in-person at approximately 1900+ hours.  Virtual Professional Developments will focus on training the teachers and support staff’s sustainable practices and strategies with full implementation. These practices will also enhance 21st Century competencies designed for K-12 students. Strategies focused on neuroplasticity and mindfulness to increase student active participation, motivation, engagement, and relationships. In this sustainable approach, participants will learn, practice, customize, and apply tools and strategies for themselves and their students. This implementation process is mindful and successful in an online and remote learning situation and can transfer seamlessly into a traditional classroom environment.
